Long Island Ping Pong League or LPL was formed in 2008 to protect the interests of Long Island table tennis players. The LPL's Executive Offices are located within Suffolk County, NY. The LPL is in no way associated with ITTF, the sport's highest governing body. The LPL Circuit comprises Majors, LPL Tier A series, LPL Tier B series, LPL Tier C series, as well as Buffer+ and Buffer Tournaments. Players with most ranking points (collected during the calendar year) play in the season-ending EOY Championships. The week-long introductory level Buffer+ and Buffer tournaments are count towards LPL Entry Ranking. Majors are comparable to the ATP's pretigious Grand Slam tournaments, and count towards the majority of points collected for the players' LPL rankings.
